The department was in existence since the establishment of the College, with few Educational courses taught then. But in line with Educational reform, that is the B.Ed programme more courses has been introduced to help broaden the horizon of the student- teachers.

The vision of Educational studies and Early childhood Department is to teach Student-teachers to acquire and develop the Skills, Knowledge and understanding to succeed on the teaching profession and also all stages of their Education and equip with high aspirations for their future livelong learning.

The mission of the Educational Studies and Early childhood Department is to promote Student-teachers achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.
The Head of the Department is Henry Yao Agbleze. Taught Educational courses for 14 years and currently teaching Educational courses in the College. I have a lot of experience in the field of Educational studies. I had both my first and second degrees from the University of Education, Winneba in Basic Education, and Master of Art(M.A) in Adult Education from the University of Ghana, Legon. Currently a research fellow.
