[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Department of Languages comprises three Units: English Unit, Ghanaian Languages Unit, and French Unit. The first two Units were in existence before the establishment of the French Unit in September 2011. English and Ghanaian Languages Units are on the main campus of E. P. College of Education, Amedzofe whilst the French unit is at the College’s new site, sharing the same building with J. D. Koka Hall.
The Department of Languages has thirteen teaching staff made up of six females and seven males. In the area of specialization, five tutors teach English language, four tutors teach Ghanaian Languages(Twi, Ewe) and four tutors teach French language.
In the Volta Region, the Department of Languages of E. P. College of Education, Amedzofe is the only department offering French as programme, among the five Colleges of Education in the region.
At the beginning of 2020/2021 academic year, two students of the Department of Languages studying French got full scholarships to spend a semester (January – May 2021) at the University of Caen in France. In all, eight students from the six Colleges of Education offering French in the country were awarded the scholarship.[/vc_column_text][lvca_heading style=”style3″ align=”left” heading=”Programmes”][vc_column_text]Programmes mounted by the department are:

I hold a Bachelor of Education in French from the University of Education, Winneba(Ghana), and a Master of Arts in French from the University of Cape Coast(Ghana).
I have been teaching French for the past twenty-three years. Before my appointment to the E.P.College of Education, Amedzofe in 2011, I taught at the Ami Preparatory School (Akatsi-Ghana), Anlo-Afiadenyigba R.C.Junior High School (Keta District-Ghana), Abor R.C.Junior High School (Keta District-Ghana), and the Sogakope Senior High School (South Tongu District-Ghana).
Apart from my teaching work at the E.P.College of Education, Amedzofe, I held various positions such as Class Advisor (2012-2016), Project Work coordinator (2015-2016), French Unit Head(2018-2021) and Hall Warden (2020-2021).I was appointed Head of Department of Languages on 01st September 2021.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
